- Beef goulashOr: Beef neck¼ kg
- Onions¼ kg
- Paprika sweet1 tbsp
- Tomato paste¾ tbsp
- Garlic cloves1 Stk
- LardOr: Sunflower oil, Butter20 g
- Caraway¼ tsp
- Marjoram¼ tsp
- Bay leaves1 Stk
- Beef broth190 ml
- Bell pepperOr: Pointed pepper1 Stk
- Iodized salt¼ tsp
- Pepper¼ tsp
Method
Step by step

Finely chop onions (same weight as meat).

Heat lard in a heavy pot.

Slowly brown onions golden for 20 minutes.

Take pot off heat, stir in paprika powder and caraway (otherwise burns).

Add tomato paste and pressed garlic.

Deglaze with broth, add bay leaf and marjoram.

Salt and pepper meat, add to pot.

Braise covered 2.5 hours over low heat until meat is very tender.

Add bell pepper strips in last 30 minutes.

Season and serve with dumplings or potatoes.
