- Beef stew meatOr: Beef neck, Beef roast¼ kg
- Guinness beerOr: Beer130 ml
- Onions1 Stk
- Carrots1 Stk
- Garlic cloves1 Stk
- Tomato paste½ tbsp
- Beef broth130 ml
- Bay leaves1 Stk
- Thyme¼ tsp
- Wheat flour¾ tbsp
- Brown sugar¼ tbsp
- Iodized salt¼ tsp
- Pepper1 pinch
Method
Step by step

Cut beef into 3 cm cubes, salt, pepper and dredge in flour.

Heat oil in a heavy pot and sear meat in batches, remove.

Dice onions and carrots, chop garlic.
- 4
Sauté onions and carrots in the same pot for 5 minutes.

Add garlic and tomato paste, toast briefly.

Deglaze with Guinness and scrape up browned bits.

Add broth, bay leaf, thyme and brown sugar.

Return meat to pot, braise covered over low heat for 2.5 hours.

Season with salt and pepper and serve with mashed potatoes.
