- Chicken thighs¼ kg
- Walnuts75 g
- Pomegranate molassesOr: Pomegranate50 ml

- Butter15 g
- Chicken broth130 ml
- Brown sugar½ tbsp
- Cinnamon stick 0.25 tsp groundas needed
- Saffron threads1 pinch
- Iodized salt¼ tsp
- Pomegranate 1 pc for garnishas needed

Step by step

Toast walnuts golden in a dry pan and finely grind.

Finely chop onions and fry golden in butter.

Salt and pepper chicken, brown all around in the pot.

Add ground walnuts and fry along for 5 minutes.

Deglaze with broth.

Add pomegranate molasses, brown sugar, cinnamon and saffron.

Cover and simmer over low heat for 90 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Sauce should turn dark and creamy.

Season with salt.

Serve sprinkled with pomegranate seeds and rice.
