  • Baking powder

Method

Step by step

    Pat sausages dry and insert wooden sticks.

    Mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a bowl.

    Whisk egg with milk and stir into the dry ingredients to form a thick batter.

    Fill batter into a tall glass for easy dipping.

    Heat oil to 180°C.

    Dip sausages on the stick into the batter so they are coated all around.

    Immediately drop into hot oil and fry 3–4 minutes until golden brown.

    Drain on paper towels.

    Serve with mustard and ketchup.
