- Beef minceOr: Lamb mince125 g
- Pork mince125 g
- Onions 1 pc finely gratedas needed
- Garlic cloves1 Stk
- Sweet paprika½ tsp
- Cumin¼ tsp
- Baking soda¼ tsp
- Iodized salt½ tsp
- Pepper¼ tsp
- Pita bread1 Stk
- Red onions1 Stk
- AjvarOr: Salsa Roja, Tomato paste50 g

Step by step

Combine both minces in a bowl.

Add grated onion, pressed garlic, paprika, cumin, baking soda, salt and pepper.

Knead very thoroughly until a homogeneous mass forms.

Rest mass at least 30 minutes, ideally overnight, in the fridge.

Form finger-thick rolls about 8 cm long.

Heat grill or pan very hot.

Briefly warm pita.

Brown cevapi all around 8–10 minutes turning several times.

Serve with pita, chopped red onions and ajvar.
