- Pork bellyOr: Chicken breast, Pork neck200 g
- Soy sauce30 ml
- VinegarOr: Apple vinegar, Rice vinegar30 ml
- Garlic cloves2 Stk
- Bay leaves1 Stk
- Pepper¼ tsp
- Water50 ml
- SugarOr: Honey, Brown sugar¼ tsp
- Sunflower oilOr: Rapeseed oil, Vegetable oil½ tbsp
Method
Step by step

Cut pork belly into bite-sized cubes.
- 2
Marinate the meat in soy sauce, vinegar, chopped garlic, bay leaves and pepper for 30 minutes.

Heat oil in a pot and sear the meat without the marinade.

Add marinade and water, bring to a boil.
- 5
Reduce heat and simmer covered for 45 minutes.

Remove lid and reduce for another 10–15 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Season with sugar and let caramelize briefly.

Serve with rice.
