Step by step

Preheat oven to 180°C, line a tray with parchment paper.

Beat eggs with sugar until foamy.

Mix flour with baking powder, salt, vanilla sugar and lemon zest.

Stir in melted butter.

Add flour mixture and almonds and knead into a dough.

Form dough into 2–3 rolls (about 4 cm diameter) and place on the tray.

Bake 25 minutes until lightly browned.

Remove from oven, cool 5 minutes and slice diagonally into 1 cm thick slices.

Place slices back on the tray and bake another 10 minutes until crispy.
