Step by step

Peel, dice and cook potatoes in salt water for about 20 minutes until tender.

Slice white cabbage into fine strips and blanch 5 minutes in salt water, drain.

Render bacon cubes crispy in a pan.

Dice onion and fry along until translucent.

Mash potatoes and combine with cabbage, bacon and onions.

Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.

Heat butter and oil in a large pan.

Add potato-cabbage mixture and press down firmly, fry over medium heat for 10 minutes.

Flip and fry another 8 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
