Step by step

Preheat oven to 190°C.

Peel, core and thinly slice apples, drizzle with lemon juice.

Mix apples with raisins, nuts, sugar and cinnamon.

Melt butter, briefly toast breadcrumbs in it until golden.

Spread filo dough on a kitchen towel and brush with melted butter.

Sprinkle crumbs on the dough and distribute apple mixture, leaving edges free.

Roll the strudel up using the towel and place on a baking tray.

Brush with remaining butter and bake 35–40 minutes until golden.

Serve lukewarm dusted with powdered sugar.
