- Rolled oats fineOr: Rolled oats coarse5 g
- Wheat flourOr: Spelt flour, Wholemeal flour5 g
- Coconut shreddedOr: Coconut flakes4 g
- SugarOr: Brown sugar5 g
- ButterOr: Margarine5 g
- Golden syrupOr: Honey, Maple syrup¼ tbsp
- Baking soda¼ tsp
- Water¼ tbsp
Method
Step by step

Preheat oven to 160°C and line a tray with parchment paper.

Mix oats, flour, coconut and sugar in a bowl.

Melt butter with golden syrup in a pot over low heat.

Dissolve baking soda in 2 tbsp hot water and add to butter mixture — it will foam.

Add the liquid to the dry mixture and stir well.

Form walnut-sized balls, place on the tray and flatten slightly.

Bake for about 12–15 minutes until golden brown.

Let firm up briefly on the tray, then cool on a rack.
