Step by step

Season beef mince with salt and pepper and form into 4 flat patties.

Slice tomatoes, onion into rings, cornichons into slices.

Wash and dry lettuce leaves.

Halve buns and briefly toast in a pan with butter.

Fry patties in a hot pan about 3–4 min per side.

At the last moment place a slice of cheddar on each patty and let melt.

Spread bottom bun halves with ketchup, mayo and mustard.

Layer lettuce, tomato, patty, onion and cornichons, place top bun on.
