Method

Step by step

    Preheat oven to 175°C, line a square pan with parchment paper.

    Melt chocolate and butter over a water bath.

    Cool slightly, then stir in sugar and vanilla extract.

    Stir in eggs one at a time.

    Mix flour, cocoa and salt and fold in.

    Roughly chop walnuts and stir in.

    Pour batter into pan and smooth.

    Bake 25–30 minutes; the center should still be slightly moist.

    Let cool completely, then cut into squares.
